One of the things evident from church history is that when opponents attempt to stomp out the gospel like a camp fire, the Holy Spirit not only fuels the fire, but the embers shoot out and start new fires.

Genuine deeds demonstrate our obedience to Christ’s command to love others as we would love ourselves. Genuine deeds seek to meet the needs of the church with the same force, care, and attention that we would use to meet our own. When we hold back our sacrificial love, we prove that we love ourselves too much and that others are not worth the cost of sacrifice.
