11-08-2015 - #realitycheck Week #3 - Authenticity

Topic Breakdown:  For the first time in history, we can filter everything we show people.  We can self-edit what we’re going to say.  The more filtered our lives are, the more difficult it is for us to be authentic.  If you think about it, the more filtered our lives become and the more often we show others the “me” we want them to see, the more difficult it is to be authentic.  Culturally, we’re becoming so trained to filter in the picture, and then edit, perfectly, the caption and only then will we send it out there so the rest of the world can affirm us, but is that really our authentic selves.  People are starting to fear and avoid unfiltered communication. 

THE POINT:  When you turn to the Lord, the veil is taken away.  You are no longer living for the approval of people, but you are living from the approval of God!  You recognize, I am acceptable to God, through Jesus.  I am the righteousness of God, in Christ.  Christ is sufficient, all in all.
